"The Herbert Mills Community treats
others the way they want to be treated."

Herbert Mills Elementary saw its first students in 1960. The building is named after Herbert Mills, a former board member and beloved member of the community. It now has just over 400 students and over 35 staff members. Mr. Craig Seckel is currently the principal of the building that houses grades K - 4. It is located on Retton Rd. off of Rosehill near Reynoldsburg High School.

The third graders, as part of the Ohio Academic Content Standards, were learning about our local history with Social Studies. We knew that traveling on a field trip to the Reynoldsburg Historical Center would be a wonderful way for history to come alive for our students! They really enjoyed themselves and learned so much! Thank you to the wonderful volunteers who made our field trip great!

Thanksgiving week 2007 saw two tours of students from Herbert Mills Elementary school. The tours were set up by third grade teacher Mrs. Clouse, supported by friends and relatives.

RTHS member Mark Myers led a tour preview discussion of what students should expect to see in the Heritage Center. Assisting in the tours were members Hillard Ebrom, Jack and Jeanine Winters, Iva Lee Basinger and Philip Vaughn.

Notebooks were filled with interesting observations made by the many excited students.
