REYNOLDSBURG ALUMNI BANQUET
JUNE 21, 2008
The Reynoldsburg Alumni Banquet was called to order by Shirley (Tudor) Slonaker Vingle (Class of 1953), Acting President for Year 2008. Mrs. Vingle welcomed the attendees to the 119th banquet of the Reynoldsburg Alumni Association. She stated she was acting in Rollie Powell's place due to his recent illness. The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was given. Mrs. Vingle introduced Reverend Chip Heim, Rollie's pastor, who delivered the Invocation and a prayer for Rollie.
Dinner was served.
At the end of the dinner, Mrs. Vingle convened the Alumni Business Meeting. She began by stating 119 were in attendance. She then introduced and thanked the Banquet Committee and 2008 Alumni Officers. She, also, stated Annette McClure, our photographer was available for anyone wishing photographs. The 2008 Alumni Officers were introduced as:
President, Rolle Powell, Class of 1952.
Vice President, Jack Kitzmiller, Class of 1952
Treasurer, Joyce Linden Wolf, Class of 1954
Corresponding Secretary, Marilyn Oldham Griffin, Class of 1946

Mrs. Vingle stated Rollie Powell was in James Arthur Cancer Center, Room 834, and his home address is 8200 Palmer Road for anyone wishing to send cards.
Mrs. Vingle recognized all Reynoldsburg High Graduates but gave special recognition to the Anniversary Classes by introducing each class individually as follows:

Class of 1943 with four attending.
Class of 1948 with six attending.
Class of 1953 with ten attending.
Class of 1958 with thirteen of 60 attending.
Diane (Johnson) Rowe, Class of 1958, thanked Rollie for setting a precedence of recognizing graduates. She gave an example of one action her class took. They had each graduate tell what happened to them after they graduated; such as, married or not, children, careers, anything they wanted to share about their lives etc. She stated everyone enjoyed this aspect of their anniversary 'get together' the most.
All attendees were asked to come again and bring other classmates.
The 50/50 drawing was held with 3 lucky winners of $58.00 each. Jack Friedlander and Herman Bryant donated their winnings back to the Association.
The Banquet was officially closed and all were free to socialize.
