Take A Seat is a project where an individual will either donate a chair to be auctioned or decorate an old chair possibly with a theme in mind, The seat could be a bench, stool, ottoman, wooden or metal chair. Participants could purchase a chair at an antique or second hand shop and give this chair a new life. We will also take donated chairs, seats, benches etc. January 15th – April 5th to be distributed to participants who do not have a chair. Antique chairs in great condition that do not need a face-lift will be auctioned as is. There will be a pre-view of the chairs before the event in early April held at the Heritage House in Reynoldsburg for all to view. We may even have them displayed in some local shops. There will be tickets sold for the auction that include Food, Tea and Coffee. We will also have a professional auctioneer to handle the bidding. There will be a raffle and door prizes and possibly some live musical entertainment prior to the auction. All details are coming together at this time. This is an exciting program for the Historical Society – everyone seems to jump at getting involved. I personally participated in one of these programs in Chillicothe at The Pump House Gallery a few years ago and it was very successful and A LOT OF FUN!! I encourage you to get involved – dig in your garage and come out with a great find. Schools, business owners, art classes and just everyone can have a great experience and at the same time make memories for generations to come by supporting the Reynoldsburg Truro Historical Society.
